Agartala
West Tripura · India
Agartala, the capital of India's Tripura state, sits on the banks of the Haora River just a couple of kilometres from the Bangladesh border — closer to Dhaka than to most major Indian cities. Founded in 1850 by Maharaja Radha Krishna Kishore Manikya Bahadur, it is the largest city in Tripura and serves as one of India's international internet gateways, currently being developed under the national Smart Cities Mission.
