Agira

Small Sicilian hill town in the Province of Enna, Agira sits in the mid-valley of the River Salso on the site of the ancient Greek settlement of Agyrion, and carries an unusual concentration of historic churches for its size. Known until 1861 as San Filippo d'Argiriò after its patron saint Philip of Agira, it is listed among I Borghi più belli d'Italia, with the wider region ringed by UNESCO World Heritage sites.
