Al Khums
Libya
Leptis Magna, one of the best-preserved Roman cities in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, lies on the eastern edge of Al Khums, a coastal city in northwestern Libya. The ruins — a major draw in the wider region — sit close to the Mediterranean shore, with agricultural hinterlands stretching inland toward the mountains. Al Khums also serves as the administrative centre of the Murqub district.
