Algarrobo
Chile
This little coastal town on Chile's central coast known as the "nautical capital of Chile," Algarrobo draws visitors for sailing, surfing, and other water sports across its stretch of beaches. The San Alfonso del Mar resort, just north of town, holds what was for several years the world's largest outdoor pool, recognised by the Guinness World Records. Nearby, the rocky islet of Islote Pájaros Niños shelters colonies of Humboldt penguins, Peruvian pelicans, and Guanay cormorants.
