Algemesí's September festival honouring the Mare de Déu de la Salut, recognised by UNESCO as intangible cultural heritage in 2011, is the town's most distinctive draw — it includes the Muixeranga, a traditional Valencian dance and human-tower performance with roots in the festivity.
