Arcachon
Gironde · France
A well-established Atlantic seaside resort in the Gironde, Arcachon was created in 1857 as a destination in its own right, set within the Landes forest southwest of Bordeaux. Its sandy beach, mild climate, and dense café and restaurant scene make it one of the larger resorts on France's Atlantic coast, alongside Biarritz and Royan. The surrounding Basin d'Arcachon offers scenic viewpoints across the water.
