Battle Creek
Calhoun County · United States
Battle Creek, a Michigan city at the confluence of the Kalamazoo and Battle Creek rivers, is best known as the birthplace of the American breakfast cereal industry — the Kellogg brothers accidentally invented the first cereal here, and the city remains home to WK Kellogg Co and the founding city of Post Consumer Brands. Nicknamed "Cereal City," it also appeared in T.C. Boyle's novel and film adaptation of The Road to Wellville.
