Bistrica pri Tržiču
Slovenia
This village in Slovenia's Upper Carniola region, sitting above the right bank of the Tržiška Bistrica river on the road toward the Ljubelj pass, with mountain terrain rising on multiple sides and scenic viewpoints above the valley. The late-Gothic church of St. George, whose nave has a decoratively painted wooden ceiling, stands at the foot of a dolomite hill in the old settlement core, and the ruins of 12th-century Stari Gutenberk castle — abandoned in the 16th century — overlook the village from above.
