Bragança

A coastal city in the state of Pará in northern Brazil, Bragança sits on the Caeté River and is bordered by two marine extractive reserves — the Tracuateua and Caeté-Taperaçu — both established in 2005. The city traces its origins to a 1613 French expedition and was formally founded as Vila de Bragança in 1753, becoming a municipality by imperial decree in 1854.
