Brantford, a city on the Grand River in Southwestern Ontario, is known as "The Telephone City" — Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone here and made the first long-distance call from the city. Bell's former home in the Tutela Heights area is a national historic site. The city is also the hometown of hockey legend Wayne Gretzky, and sits adjacent to the Six Nations of the Grand River reserve, the most populous First Nations reserve in Canada.
