A little town on the south bank of the Sava river in Republika Srpska, Brod sits at the northern edge of Bosnia and Herzegovina with a compact centre of cafés and restaurants along the waterfront. The Sava forms the border with Croatia here, and the wider Posavina region extends toward nearby mountains to the south.
