Chamarel
Mauritius
A small village in the mountains of Mauritius's Rivière Noire District, Chamarel draws visitors to the Seven Coloured Earths, the Chamarel Falls, and the Black River Gorges National Park nearby. The surrounding area is also known for locally grown coffee, and the village has a modest café and restaurant scene for its size. The 1876 church of Saint Anna hosts an annual pilgrimage and fair on 15 August.
