Châteaudun
Eure-et-Loir · France
A heritage-dense town on the Loir river in Eure-et-Loir, Châteaudun has a compact centre with a strong concentration of listed buildings — among them a 1938 brick-and-stone factory complex and a 1972 aquatic centre, both recognised for their architectural merit. The town was the site of a battle during the Franco-Prussian War, and the surrounding Loir valley holds two Natura 2000 conservation zones.
