A modest city on Newfoundland's west coast where the Bay of Islands meets the mouth of the Humber River, Corner Brook sits in mountain terrain with a compact centre of cafés and restaurants. It serves as the main hub for western and northern Newfoundland, and its port receives cruise ships. The city is also the administrative headquarters of the Qalipu Mi'kmaq First Nations band government.
