A tiny seaside town on the south coast of the Llŷn Peninsula in Gwynedd, Wales, Criccieth is dominated by the ruins of Criccieth Castle, which look out over Tremadog Bay and the surrounding countryside. The town is associated with David Lloyd George, the former UK prime minister, who grew up in nearby Llanystumdwy. Annual fairs on 23 May and 29 June draw visitors to a fairground and street market, and the town has a reasonable spread of cafés and restaurants for its size.
