Cricova

Cricova's underground wine galleries, stretching for well over a hundred kilometres beneath this pocket-sized Moldovan town, make it one of the country's most-visited destinations. Most of the tunnels — carved from natural limestone — are used for wine storage and can be toured. The town sits a short drive from Chișinău, Moldova's capital, making it an easy day trip.
