Daimiel

Wine-country town in the La Mancha region of Ciudad Real, Daimiel has a compact centre with a concentration of cafés and restaurants and sits close to the Tablas de Daimiel National Park, a wetland reserve a short distance from town. Evidence of settlement in the area dates to around 2450 BC, and the town received its city title from the queen regent María Cristina in 1887.
