El Jadida

The Portuguese Fortified City of Mazagan, built at the start of the 16th century and registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004, anchors this Atlantic coast city south of Casablanca. The old city's sea walls, cistern, and Church of the Assumption — both in Manueline style — represent what UNESCO describes as an outstanding interchange between European and Moroccan cultures.
