Elne

Once the first capital of the historical province of Roussillon before Perpignan took that role, Elne is a small town in southern France's Pyrénées-Orientales known for its Roman architectural remains. The town sits in Mediterranean wine-growing country near the Tech river, with a small central core of cafés and restaurants, and scenic surrounds close to both mountains and the coast.
