Enez
Edirne · Türkiye
A pocket-sized town on the Aegean coast of Eastern Thrace, Enez sits at the point where the Meriç river meets the sea at the Turkish-Greek border. The old town centre backs onto the river, while Pırlanta Beach and the Golden Sands resort strip lie a short distance southwest across the lagoon. Known in antiquity as Ainos, the town has no land border crossing into Greece despite its proximity — travellers must head north to İpsala to cross.
