Grimsey
Iceland
Straddling the Arctic Circle off Iceland's north coast, Grimsey is the country's northernmost inhabited settlement — a tiny fishing hamlet reachable by ferry from Dalvík or by air from Akureyri. The island draws visitors who come to cross the Arctic Circle line itself, and its cliffs host breeding colonies of puffins and other seabirds each summer.
