Gurúè

Gurúè is home to Mozambique's largest tea plantations, making this city in Zambezia Province the country's principal tea-growing centre. Known before independence as Vila Junqueiro, it sits in the northern part of Mozambique close to mountains and within reach of water. It has held city status since 1971 and has been one of the country's elected municipalities since 1998.
