Heyuan
Guangdong Province · China
Heyuan, a city in northeastern Guangdong, China, has been officially designated China's "Hometown of the Dinosaur" following the unearthing of thousands of dinosaur egg fossils in the area. It sits along the Dongjiang River and borders the Xinfengjiang Reservoir — the largest lake in Guangdong, also known as Wanlü Lake — with mountain ranges on multiple sides. The city is a historic centre of Hakka culture and counts rainforest among its landscapes.
