Hurup

Denmark

Hurup Thy, a tiny railway town in northwestern Jutland's Thy district, grew up around the Struer–Thisted line built in 1882 and served as the administrative centre of Sydthy municipality from 1970 to 2006. It is the birthplace of Lars Larsen, founder of the Jysk retail chain. The town sits close to the water and within reach of the wider Thy landscape, with some listed heritage architecture in the surrounding area.
