Huskvarna

Sweden

Sitting on the eastern shore of Lake Vättern, Huskvarna is a Swedish town whose lower centre is ringed by elevated residential districts, offering views across one of Scandinavia's largest lakes. The town has deep industrial roots: the predecessor to Husqvarna AB, a rifle factory, began production here in 1689, and the factory still operates today producing chainsaws and lawnmowers. Huskvarna was an independent city municipality from 1911 until 1971, when it merged administratively into Jönköping.
