Inuyama, a town in Aichi Prefecture north of Nagoya, is anchored by Inuyama Castle, a feudal-era fortress that gave the surrounding castle town its identity through the Edo period. The town also holds Meiji Mura, an open-air architectural museum, the Little World ethnological park, and Japan Monkey Park. Sitting on the water with mountains close by, it has a walkable centre with cafés and restaurants and scenic viewpoints in the surrounding area.
