Itabira

Birthplace of the modernist poet Carlos Drummond de Andrade, Itabira is a city in Minas Gerais known as the "Capital of Poetry." It sits within the Iron Quadrilateral, a region whose gold and iron ore deposits shaped the city's history from the 18th century onward — including the 1942 founding of what is now Vale S.A.
