Jiaxing

Sitting on the Grand Canal in northern Zhejiang, Jiaxing is a historic water city with a walkable centre full of cafés and restaurants, reachable in under an hour by train from Shanghai. The wider municipality takes in Wuzhen and Xitang, two well-preserved canal towns, alongside the historic district of Pinghu.
