Jiblah
Yemen
Jiblah, a highland town in Yemen's Ibb Governorate, served as the capital of Queen Arwa bint Ahmad al-Sulayhiyyi, who ruled from here in the 11th century until her death and was buried in the mosque she built. Her historical palace survives in the town centre. Jiblah and its surroundings appear on the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List, and the town sits high in the mountains near Jabal At-Ta'kar, with water sources close by.
