Kalmar
Kalmar län · Sweden
Kalmar, on Sweden's Baltic coast, is a historically significant city whose medieval castle and 1702 cathedral anchor a walkable centre with a dense food-and-drink scene. From the 13th to the 17th centuries it ranked among Sweden's most important cities, and Kalmar Castle remains its centrepiece. The city sits at the foot of the Öland Bridge, the main crossing to the island of Öland, and is home to part of Linnaeus University.
