Kampot
Cambodia
Kampot, a riverside town in southern Cambodia, is known across the country for its pepper — grown on nearby farms and exported worldwide — as well as for its fish sauce, sea salt, and durian. The walkable centre is lined with 19th-century French colonial architecture, and the town sits close to Bokor National Park and the Elephant Mountains. Cambodia's government has been preparing a UNESCO World Heritage nomination for the Old Town since 2017.
