Kaprun

A little Austrian town in the Salzburg province that pairs year-round glacier skiing on the Kitzsteinhorn — whose summit viewing platform sits high above 3,000 metres — with a café and restaurant scene that holds a surprising number of options for its size. The aerial tramway up to Kitzsteinhorn runs over the tallest support pillar of any aerial tramway in the world. Kaprun markets itself jointly with the neighbouring city of Zell am See as a single ski and holiday destination.
