Karis

Bilingual tiny town on Finland's southern coast, Karis is now part of the municipality of Raseborg, formed in 2009 when it merged with Ekenäs and Pohja. Its railway station serves as a junction on the Helsinki–Turku coastal line and the Hanko–Hyvinkää railway, making it a practical stop for rail travellers moving between Helsinki and the southwestern coast. The town was historically majority Swedish-speaking, reflecting the bilingual character of the Uusimaa region.
