Kazarman
Kyrgyzstan
A little town in Kyrgyzstan's Jalal-Abad region, Kazarman sits along the Naryn River in highland terrain and serves as the administrative centre of Toguz-Toro district. Its name derives from a Russian military garrison stationed here in the early 20th century. The town is a base for expeditions to the Saimaluu-Tash petroglyphs — rock carvings concentrated on large basalt boulders — and has a compact central core with cafés and a market. In winter, heavy snowfall can cut it off from neighbouring areas.
