Khabab
Syria
This town in the Hauran plain of southern Syria, Khabab sits on an elevated plateau and carries a substantial Christian heritage: historically a seat of the Bosra and Hauran diocese, it was known in antiquity as Abiba and retains Roman and Byzantine remains across the surrounding area. Its inhabitants are predominantly Melkite Greek Catholic Christians, and the Hejaz Railway passes through, with a station serving the town.
