Khulna

Bangladesh's third-largest city and the main gateway to the Sundarbans — the world's largest mangrove forest and habitat of the Bengal tiger, a UNESCO-recognised site to the south. Khulna sits on the Rupsha and Bhairab rivers and serves as a significant river port, with colonial-era steamboats still running river routes into the city. The Mosque City of Bagerhat, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, lies just to the south as well, making Khulna a practical base for both.
