Kolín
Czechia
This walkable Central Bohemian town on the Elbe River with a well-preserved historic centre protected as an urban monument reservation, Kolín sits roughly an hour east of Prague. The Church of Saint Bartholomew, a national cultural monument, anchors the old town. Founded before 1261, the town grew rapidly after connecting to the Prague–Olomouc railway in 1845, and today hosts the Kmochův Kolín international wind-music festival, named after local composer František Kmoch.
