This pocket-sized mountain town in Epirus built on a slope of the Pindos range, Konitsa overlooks the valley where the Aoos and Voidomatis rivers meet and serves as a base for hiking, rafting, and paragliding in the surrounding mountains. The nearby Vikos–Aoös National Park takes in the Vikos Gorge, the Aoos Gorge, and the Tymfi mountains, and the town holds several historic churches for its size.
