Lacolle
Lacolle · Canada
Compact Quebec village on the Richelieu River, Lacolle offers several kilometres of riverfront that have made water-based activities the backbone of its local economy. The Lacolle River runs through the centre of town before joining the Richelieu, and the village sits directly on the Canada–United States border, with Champlain, New York just across. Historically shaped by forestry, agriculture, fishing, and river transport, it is the only municipality in the Haut-Richelieu region bordered to the south by New York State.
