Linyi

Large city in southeastern Shandong whose name literally means "close to the Yi River," Linyi has expanded along that river in recent years, adding recreational parks and new districts to its waterfront. One of the largest prefecture-level cities in Shandong by both area and population, it sits at the transition between the Yimeng Mountain ranges to the north and river plains to the south, and holds designations as a national tourist city, garden city, and forest city.
