Litomyšl
Czechia
Litomyšl's Renaissance castle complex is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, anchoring a pocket-sized town in eastern Bohemia whose well-preserved historic centre also holds a Baroque and a Gothic church. The town is the birthplace of composer Bedřich Smetana, and hosts several annual festivals including the Smetanova Litomyšl music festival and a baroque traditions event. A café and restaurant scene strong for a town its size adds to the appeal.
