Mitchelstown

This small town in north County Cork described as one of Ireland's finest Georgian planned towns, Mitchelstown sits in the valley south of the Galtee Mountains with the River Gradoge running through it. Founded in the 13th century by Norman settlers, it was also known in the 20th century for its cheese production. The town centre has cafés and restaurants, and the M8 motorway connecting Cork and Dublin passes close by.
