A pocket-sized town on the south shore of the Saint Lawrence River in Quebec's Bas-Saint-Laurent region, Mont-Joli sits at the gateway to the Gaspé Peninsula. Its airport was the second busiest in Canada during the Second World War, and the town today serves as the county seat of La Mitis and a member of Quebec's Villages-relais network, which designates rest stops for road travellers.
