Nagarote

Known across Nicaragua as the birthplace of quesillo — a fresh cheese rolled in tortilla and doused in cream — Nagarote is a town in the León department, a short drive from Managua on the shores of Lake Managua. The municipality has also earned a long-standing reputation as the cleanest in Nicaragua, recognised formally as a model "Blue Municipality" for its environmental management.
