Neiafu
Tonga
Neiafu sits beside the Port of Refuge, a deep-water harbour on the south coast of Vavaʻu island in northern Tonga, and serves as the administrative centre of the Vavaʻu archipelago. The harbour draws yachts from across the Pacific, and the flat-topped Mt. Talau rises to the town's north-west. A German coaling station operated here under an 1876 treaty before passing to British control in 1900.
