Nesso

A particularly photogenic village on the eastern shore of Lake Como, roughly halfway between the towns of Como and Bellagio, with a little but real café and restaurant scene and a striking number of churches for its size. The surrounding terrain rises steeply into mountain peaks, and the wider region is ringed by UNESCO World Heritage sites. The village's Celtic name means "mooring" — a fitting origin for a settlement built along the water's edge.
