Nishiwaki, in Hyōgo Prefecture, markets itself as "The Navel of Japan" — its Nihon no Heso Park marks the precise crossing of the 135° East meridian and the 35° North parallel, the geographic centre of the country. The city is also known for Banshu-ori, a textile tradition with over 200 years of history made possible by three rivers running through the area, and as the birthplace of artist Tadanori Yokoo.
