Built entirely on stilts and platforms over Lake Tadane, Nzulezo is a village in Ghana's Western Region where daily life unfolds on the water. Nominated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2000, the settlement was originally constructed over water for protection during wartime. Visitors come to experience the village itself and to sample a locally produced alcohol. Access is from the nearby village of Beyin, in the Jomoro District.
