Orihuela

Orihuela's historic centre, declared a protected monumental ensemble, holds an exceptional concentration of churches alongside a walkable café and restaurant scene, all set against the Sierra de Orihuela mountains with the river Segura running through the city. The municipality stretches to the Mediterranean coast, adding beach access to the mix. The city was the birthplace of the poet Miguel Hernández, and its Holy Week celebrations carry international tourist-interest status, while the Reconquest festivals hold national recognition.
