Owando

This riverside town in the Republic of Congo serves as the capital of the Cuvette département and was formerly known as Fort-Rousset. Predominantly home to the Kouyou people, Owando hosted the country's national independence celebrations in August 2007 and has undergone significant modernisation since that year.
